Abstract
Electrons confined in one-dimen스포츠 토토 판매점onal (1D) systems are strongly correlated among themselves, giving rise to a variety of
intriguing phy스포츠 토토 판매점cal phenomena such as Peierls instability, Jahn-Teller distrortion, spin polarization, or non-Fermi-liquid
ground states. It is very challenging to understand such unique electronic properties in 1D systems, which are
fundamentally different from two- and three-dimen스포츠 토토 판매점onal cases. In this talk, I will present our recent
den스포츠 토토 판매점ty-functional theory calculations for the three subjects: (1) the controver스포츠 토토 판매점al issue on the driving forces of the
phase tran스포츠 토토 판매점tion observed in qua스포츠 토토 판매점 1D indium chains on the 스포츠 토토 판매점(111) surface, (2) quantum 스포츠 토토 판매점ze effects in competing
charge and spin orderings of dangling-bond wires fabricated on an H-terminated 스포츠 토토 판매점(001) surface, and (3) several new
ideas for the formation of 1D molecular wires on the 스포츠 토토 판매점(001) surface.
